Poem: What’s for dinner?

What’s for dinner?
This is an interesting question.
The answer can say a lot.

Think for a moment
about what’s for dinner
and about what that might mean.

What does it reveal?
What does it mean in a larger sense?

It sounds simple.

What’s for dinner?

There can be a lot
on the plate of the answer though.

Poem: an empty plate

an empty plate
at the table

why?

someone left?

someone has not arrived?

someone isn’t eating?

the food has not been served?

the food has been eaten?

it’s a decoration?

it’s there in case someone arrives?

some other reason?
