The surface is chipped

The surface is chipped and broken away,
a weight fell down during the day,
the smooth is gone beneath is rough,
the surface seemed strong it did seem tough,
but not as tough as the weight did weigh.

The surface seemed strong like it would stay,
but the cost of the weight it could not pay,
the surface it did not have enough,
the surface is chipped.

As the weight did fall the surface did say,
that it could not move from the way,
the weight did fall and that seemed guff,
the pieces broke and now were stuff,
around the surface they all did lay,
the surface is chipped.

Garbage disposal

Water flows as carrots wash,
and outsides are rinsed clean.
The ends are cut and fall down,
with a knife that removes.
Then they are held away,
and the knife scraps away,
and the peel falls away,
in a powder of orange.
The water flows again,
the rest of the powder falls,
the carrots are set away,
and the powder is pushed down.
A switch is flipped,
and blades spin,
and the orange powder is gone.

http://www.amazon.com/First-Try-M-Sakran/dp/1632130343

The Pig

The pig did long to be a sheep,
to have some use besides his meat,
to seem to have a worth alive,
and not just dead.

The pig did wish he could give warmth,
with sweater and hat and by scarf,
and not be worn in other ways,
as belts and shoes.

In dreams of pain he knew what’s known,
that his death was thought in pieces:
bacon, chops, roast, butt, ham, shoulder,
– the sheep’s less known.

The pig did long to be a sheep.

Poetry Book: First Try: A series of poems: Poem three: The keys are separate

The third poem from M. Sakran’s collection of poetry entitled First Try, published by eLectio Publishing, is below.  First Try is available here:

http://www.amazon.com/First-Try-M-Sakran/dp/1632130343

The keys are separate

The metal keys are joined by metal rings,
with orientations of books pressed in,
they are silent except when they are moved,
and then they sound like little chimes.

The keys open the wooden doors simply,
without the speed of light enclosed by forms,
for years of one and thousand more behind,
they work by moving forts of steel away.

But a most painful state exists each day,
for metal keys are kept separate by will,
they are always kept on the left of one,
to keep them from objects that are fragile.

The form that holds the abacus small beads,
the form that holds the waves of the clear air,
they are special with worth and are fragile,
the fear of one is that the keys will harm.

The keys are filled with mere begin intent,
they have no will to harm the special forms,
and silently they do persist with life,
and hope that one will one day see this truth.
