Poem with an explanation: under the red sky

under the red sky
upon the sand
the waves stopped crashing
but for a moment

In this poem, a person was sleeping on a sofa.  The person was covered with a red blanket (under the red sky) and was sleeping on a brown sofa (upon the sand).  The person had a stressful day, but in their sleep they found peace (the waves stopped crashing).  The peace lasted while the person slept (but for a moment).

Post Series: The Dragonfly Series: Experimental Poetry Form: Dragonfly syllable stresses

Dragonfly is a three syllable word with a stress pattern of: high, low, medium.  This idea is used here to make an experimental poetry form.

The form is ten lines.  Each line has three syllables.  Those syllables follow the same stress pattern as dragonfly.  Ideally the poem should make sense as it flows.

Here is an example poem:

Bumblebee,

bumblebee,

  daffodils,

  marigolds,

  bluebonnets,

resonate,

eye-catching,

dragonfly,

metaphors,

everywhere.
